The outfits you choose to wear to your sesion can really make or break how your photos feel when you look at them. Sam and Deb wore such a beautiful combination of clothes, keeping it light and really thinking of the location as well! Deb’s dress is a perfect beach dress, with the light color, flowy fabric and details within it. When looking for outfits for pictures, try to first think of the colors of your location- you don’t want to match your background! Then, think about soft, neutral colors- white, cream, khakis, light blues, browns, sages, pastel colors. The texture and layers will also play a huge role in your outfits as well. Knits always come across more cozy than a t-shirt. When trying to plan outfits for a family, you always want to coordinate instead of all wearing the same color. I always suggest choosing mom’s outfit first (because let’s face it, these pictures are for her!), and if that outfit has a pattern, pull colors out of that outfit to coordinate the rest! You should try to limit outfits with prints to one person to make everyone look more cohesive. If you need help styling or planning your outfits for your session with me, just send over a message and I can help style you! I know first hand how stressful that part can be, and I’d love make it a little easier for you 🙂
